The vocational school for music in Upper Franconia in Kronach is one of eleven Bavarian music schools .
history
The vocational schools for music have existed in Bavaria since 1977 . It was founded against the background of a great boom in amateur music in recent decades. This made it necessary to train qualified ensemble and choir leaders. A vocational school for music was founded in every Bavarian administrative district, in 1979 in the Upper Franconian district of Kronach. The former district library was converted and furnished for this purpose. In 1997 the training courses were expanded: The third year of training as an instrument teacher was added. Since the school was founded, the training has also been used as preparation for studying at a music college .
Training courses and degrees
- State-certified ensemble leader in the field of classical music
- State-certified church musician (C church music examination)
- with an additional pedagogical examination (which enables teaching in the respective main subject in the lower and intermediate level of public singing and music schools)
- with additional artistic examination (which certifies in-depth artistic training in the respective main subject)
- First section of training as a specialist teacher for music and communication technology in elementary, middle and secondary schools (which must be continued and completed at the Ansbach State Institute)
A specialty of the Upper Franconian music school in Kronach is the early music department, which has an extensive collection of various instruments from the Middle Ages, Renaissance and Baroque. In addition, elementary and therapeutic music-making plays a special role in training. The symbiotic cooperation with the singing and music school in the Kronach district, which is located in the same building, results in synergy effects that expand the lessons. The Sing- und Musikschulwerk Oberfranken (Sing- und Musikschulwerk Oberfranken), which is maintained by the same sponsor, organizes a music education training program that also benefits school education.
