Steven Heelein

Steven Heelein (born May 29, 1984 in Schweinfurt ) is a German composer, conductor and university professor.

Life

Steven Heelein completed an organ training at the vocational school for music in Upper Franconia in Kronach. He then studied church music B and choral conducting / conducting B.Mus. at the University for Catholic Church Music and Music Education in Regensburg. Private composition studies led him to Franz Hummel in Riedenburg.

He has been a composer since 2004 and has received several prizes and awards for his works.

From 2010 to 2012 he was a lecturer for the subject of new music and head of the studio for experimental music at the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt . Since 2009 he has been teaching conducting and composition at the HfKM Regensburg. In 2015 he was also given the professorship i. K. in conducting (focus on choral conducting) at the University of Protestant Church Music in Bayreuth .

He also works as an author and visual artist.
