Audi youth choir academy

The Audi Youth Choir Academy is a selected ensemble of 80 young singers that was founded by AUDI AG in 2007 .

The choir

The ensemble, based in Ingolstadt , was brought into being by Audi in 2007 . The non-profit association Jugendchorakademie e. V. Sponsor of the Audi Youth Choir Academy.

The choir consists of around 80 singers between the ages of 16 and 27. The cast depends on the respective project. The members of the choir currently come from all over Germany and Austria .

As part of joint rehearsals and intensive one-to-one tuition, the adolescents and young adults learn to make music together and receive individual vocal training. In rehearsal phases lasting several days, the musicians are prepared for the respective concerts under professional guidance.

Concert tours have already taken the choir to Taiwan and Singapore in 2012 , to Italy and to the Vatican in 2011 . In December 2017, the Audi Youth Choir Academy will be a guest at the Maison symphonique de Montréal .

Artistic Director

The Audi Youth Choir Academy has been under the artistic direction of Martin Steidler since 2008 .

Cooperations

The vocal ensemble cooperates with top artists and orchestras such as Kent Nagano , the London Symphony Orchestra , the Bavarian State Orchestra , the Philharmonic State Orchestra Hamburg and the Academy for Old Music Berlin .

Audition

Auditions take place once a year at different locations in Germany, where those interested can qualify for participation in the choir. The audition consists of an optional piece (art song or aria), a compulsory piece (usually from the next concert program) and some exercises in sightseeing. A répétiteur accompanies the applicants during their presentation.

Competitions

2010: Awarded the "Golden Diploma" at the Festival of Advent and Christmas Music in Prague
2011: Winner in the competition "365 Landmarks in the Land of Ideas"
