The Extraliga 2017/18 was the 25th regular staging of the highest Czech ice hockey league. The Czech champions were for the second time in a row HC Kometa Brno , who defeated HC Oceláři Třinec 4-1 in the playoff final. The HC Dukla Jihlava rose after a season in the top division back to the first division and was replaced by the relegated HC Energie Karlovy Vary .

The T.G. Masaryk Cup

In 52 games, all teams play against each other four times, each team has 26 home and 26 away games throughout the season. The teams in places 1 to 6 qualify directly for the play-offs, which are played in best-of-seven mode. The winner of the play-offs will receive the Pohár TG Masaryka (T.-G.-Masaryk-Pokal) as Czech champions .

The teams in places 7 to 10 play off the other two playoff places in the best of five . The remaining four teams play a relegation round (play-out), the last two of which participate in the league relegation against the two semi-final winners of the first division .
