Jakub Krejčík (born June 25, 1991 in Prague , Czechoslovakia ) is a Czech ice hockey player who has been under contract with Jokerit Helsinki from the Continental Hockey League (KHL) since May 2020 and plays there in the position of defender .

Career

Jakub Krejčík began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the youth department of HC Slavia Prague , for whose professional team he made his debut in the Extraliga , the highest Czech division, in the 2010/11 season . In his rookie year , the defender reached the playoff semi-finals with his team. He himself scored two goals and six assists in a total of 28 games. In the following season he succeeded with Slavia Prague only in the relegation round of relegation. He increased himself to four goals and nine assists in a total of 63 games.

Shortly after the start of the 2012/13 season, Krejčík moved within Prague to HC Lev Prague in the Continental Hockey League . At the beginning of the following season he was loaned to HC Sparta Prague from the Extraliga and played 56 games for the club. Between 2014 and 2016 he was under contract with Örebro HK .

Before the 2016/17 season, Krejčík was signed by the KHL Medveščak Zagreb , for which he played 48 KHL games until February 2017. He then left the club and moved back to the Czech Republic for HC Kometa Brno . With Kometa he was in the Extraliga playoffs for the first time in his career Czech champions and then received a contract extension. In the summer of 2018, the Czech joined the Finnish club Rauman Lukko , for whom he played for a year as well as Oulun Kärpät afterwards . In May 2020 Krejčík moved back to the KHL, where he was still under contract with Jokerit with a Finnish team.

International

For the Czech Republic , Krejčík took part in the 2012 World Cup, where he won the bronze medal. In the same year he represented his country on the Euro Hockey Tour .
