Jesus Armamento Dosado

Jesus Armamento Dosado CM (born September 1, 1939 in Sogod , Philippines ; † June 23, 2020 in Ozamis , Philippines) was a Filipino religious and Roman Catholic Archbishop of Ozamis .

Life

Jesus Armamento Dosado joined the religious community of Lazarists in 1957 and was ordained a priest on May 28, 1966 after his theological training in the United States . After further studies in Spain, he taught at the seminary in Cebu. He was active in the provincial council and ruled the seminary in Cebu.

Pope Paul VI appointed him on October 31, 1977 auxiliary bishop in Cebu and titular bishop of Nabala . He received his episcopal ordination on January 25th of the following year by the Archbishop of Cebu, Cardinal Julio Rosales y Ras ; Co- consecrators were Antonio Lloren Mabutas , Archbishop of Davao , and Teotimo C. Pacis , Bishop of Legazpi .

On June 4, 1979 he was appointed auxiliary bishop in Cagayan de Oro . John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Ozamis on July 29, 1981. With the elevation to the archbishopric on January 24, 1983, he was appointed Archbishop of Ozamis and on April 10 of the same year in the office.

Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation on October 4, 2016.
