The Diocese of Legazpi ( lat. : Dioecesis Legazpiensis ) is the Philippines located Roman Catholic diocese based in Legazpi City .

history

The diocese Legazpi was on June 29, 1951 by Pope Pius XII. built with the Apostolic Constitution Quo in Philippina Republica from cessions of territory of the Archdiocese of Caceres and subordinated to this as a suffragan . On May 27, 1974, the Legazpi diocese gave up parts of its territory to establish the Virac diocese .

The Diocese of Legazpi includes the province of Albay .
