José Sorra

José C. Sorra (born March 9, 1929 in Malinao , Albay Province ) is former Bishop of Legazpi .

Life

José C. Sorra was ordained a priest on March 17, 1956 and was incardinated in the clergy of the Legazpi diocese . Paul VI appointed him Bishop of Virac on May 27, 1974 .

The Archbishop of Cebu Julio Cardinal Rosales y Ras donated him episcopal ordination on August 28 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Teopisto Valderrama Alberto , Archbishop of Caceres , and Jaime Lachica Sin , Archbishop of Jaro .

On March 1, 1993, he was appointed Bishop of Legazpi. On April 1, 2005, Pope John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation.
