Nestor Celestial Cariño
Nestor Celestial Cariño (born September 8, 1938 in Malinao ) is former bishop of Legazpi .
Life
Nestor Celestial Cariño was ordained a priest on December 31, 1961 and was incardinated in the clergy of the Legazpi diocese . Pope Paul VI appointed him on March 9, 1978 auxiliary bishop in Legazpi and titular bishop of Thibiuca .
The Apostolic Nuncio in the Philippines , Bruno Torpigliani , consecrated him on May 31 of the same year as bishop ; Co- consecrators were Teopisto Valderrama Alberto , Archbishop of Caceres , and Flaviano Ariola , Bishop Emeritus of Legazpi.
Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Borongan on August 12, 1980 , from which he resigned on January 31, 1986. On June 11, 2003, he was appointed auxiliary bishop in Daet and titular bishop of Acholla . On April 1, 2005, he was appointed Bishop of Legazpi. He resigned on November 7, 2007 from this office.
