The Roman Catholic Diocese of Borongan ( lat. : Dioecesis Boronganensis ) is the Philippines located Roman Catholic diocese based in Borongan .

history

The Diocese of Borongan was on October 22nd, 1960 by Pope John XXIII. built with the Apostolic Constitution Quod sacri Calbayogani from cessions of territory of the Diocese of Calbayog and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Cebu as a suffragan . On December 5, 1974, the Borongan diocese gave parts of its territory to establish the Catarman diocese . The Borongan diocese was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Palo as a suffragan on November 15, 1982 .

The Borongan diocese includes the Eastern Samar province .
