The Diocese of Calbayog ( lat. : Dioecesis Calbayoganus ) is on the island of Samar in the Philippines located Roman Catholic diocese based in Calbayog City . It covers part of the Samar Province .

history

Pope Pius X founded it on April 10, 1910 from cession of territory by the diocese of Cebu and it was subordinated to the archdiocese of Manila as a suffragan diocese.

It was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Cebu as a suffragan diocese on April 28, 1934 . On November 15, 1982, it was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Palo as a suffragan diocese.
