history

The diocese of Tagbilaran was on November 8, 1941 by Pope Pius XII. Erected with the Apostolic Constitution In sublimi from cessions of territory of the Archdiocese of Cebu and subordinated to this as a suffragan . On January 9, 1986, the Diocese of Tagbilaran gave up parts of its territory to establish the Diocese of Talibon .

The diocese of Tagbilaran includes the province of Bohol .
