Tagbilaran is the capital of Bohol Province ( Philippines ).
It is located 630 km southeast of the Philippine capital Manila and 72 km south of Cebu City . Tagbilaran is located in the southwestern part of the province. The highest peaks are Elley Hill (100 m) in the north and Banat-i (145 m) in the south. The city consists of 15 barangays and has a population of 105,051 (as of August 1, 2015). The annual growth rate in 2005 was 3.6%. Tagbilaran is the main port of Bohol Province.
In the everyday street scene, it is noticeable that compared to other Filipino cities there are only a few taxis to be seen, but all the more tricycles . In addition to the jeepneys, these handle most of the passenger transport within the city, but they can also be chartered for half or full days for longer tours. In 2005, only 30 taxis were registered in the city, up from 2,053 tricycles.
The city also has a domestic airport that is served by Philippine Airlines and Cebu Pacific .
Not far from Tagbilaran is the island of Panglao .
Tagbilaran is the seat of the Diocese of Tagbilaran .
