history
The township of Talibon was founded in 1830. Before that time she was part of Inabanga . There are no secure historical records of the further history of its origins. According to oral tradition, the place got its name from the Talibong (see → Talibon (sword) ), a stabbing weapon that was also used in the area as a tool in gold mining.
After initially only a simple hut was available as a provisional church, the planning of a real church made of stone began in 1852. The building made of coral stone blocks was erected on a hill overlooking the sea and was completed in 1899.
Talibon is the seat of the diocese of Talibon .
