The Plumsjochhütte is a private, alpine refuge in the Vorkarwendel , the north-eastern part of the Karwendel in Tyrol . It is located at 1630 m above sea level. A. just below the Plumssattels ( 1669 m above sea level ), a transition between the Riss valley in the west and Pertisau in the Achental valley in the east. It takes its name from the Plumsjoch summit, which is not far away .
The hut serves as a base when climbing the Montscheinspitze , the Kompar and the Bettlerkarspitze . A high- altitude hiking trail that runs over the Grasbergkamm leads to the Tölzer Hütte .
The shortest access from the Riss valley leads from the Hagelhütten ( 1077 m above sea level ) via a marked hiking trail to the hut, which takes about 1½ hours. From the Gernalm ( 1166 m above sea level ) in the Gerntal near Pertisau, the Plumsjochhütte can be reached in about 1½ hours via a gravel, very steep, road. It is therefore also a popular destination for mountain bikers . The ascent from Hinterriß is easier with a mountain bike.
