The Erfurter Hütte is the alpine club hut of the Ettlingen section of the German Alpine Club . It is located in the Rofan Mountains below the Gschöllkopf directly next to the mountain station of the Rofan cable car , which leads from Maurach am Achensee to the hut.

history

In 1894, the “Erfurt” section of the DuOeAV decided to build a hut, and the first building was inaugurated a year later. In 1920 the hut was completely destroyed by fire and rebuilt in 1924. In 1945 the victorious powers annexed the hut and then handed it over to the trusteeship of the Austrian Alpine Association . In 1973 the hut was bought back by the Erfurt Section based in Ettlingen (there the Erfurt Section was re-established in West Germany in 1955; in 1983 the section was renamed Section Erfurt in Ettlingen and in 2001 it was renamed Section Ettlingen ). In 1996 the extension was inaugurated. In autumn 2010 a new roof structure was erected and the hut was extended again; the interior work was completed in summer 2010.
