Anders Lindbäck (born May 3, 1988 in Gävle ) is a Swedish ice hockey goalkeeper who has been under contract with Jokerit in the Continental Hockey League since May 2020 .
Career
Anders Lindbäck began his career as an ice hockey player in his hometown in the youth department of Brynäs IF , where he was active until 2007. The goalkeeper was then loaned to Almtuna IS from HockeyAllsvenskan , the second Swedish division, for a year and stood between the posts for its professional team in a total of 18 games. For the 2008/09 season he returned to Brynäs IF and played 27 games in the Elitserien , the highest Swedish division, for his home club. The following season he moved within the Elitserien to Timrå IK , where he immediately became a regular goalkeeper. Especially in the main round he was able to convince in his 43 appearances with an average of 2.46 per game and a catch rate of 91.3 percent.
In May 2010, Lindbäck signed a contract with the Nashville Predators , who had already selected him in the seventh round of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft as a 207th player. In his first season in the National Hockey League , the Swedish international played in a total of 23 games in the 2010/11 season . He was also in four games for Nashville's farm team Milwaukee Admirals in the American Hockey League (AHL) on the ice. For the 2012/13 season, Lindbäck moved from the Predators to the Tampa Bay Lightning . In early July 2014, the Swede signed a one-year contract with the Dallas Stars .
In February 2015, the Dallas Stars gave it to the Buffalo Sabers , including a success-based third-round vote for the 2016 NHL Entry Draft , and received Jhonas Enroth in return . With the Sabers, Lindbäck ended the season to then join the Arizona Coyotes as a free agent under a one-year contract . Subsequently, in October 2016, Lindbäck was signed by the Ontario Reign from the AHL on a trial basis , who reacted to the injury of Jonathan Quick , the goalkeeper of their NHL cooperation partner from Los Angeles . After only four missions in Ontario, Lindbäck's contract was terminated, so that he returned to his home country and joined the Rögle BK in December 2016 .
In Sweden, Lindbäck ended the season, but returned to the NHL in July 2017 when he joined the Nashville Predators, for which he was active from 2010 to 2012. However, they only used him in the AHL with the Milwaukee Admirals , before his expiring contract was not extended in the summer of 2018.
In September 2018 he received a one-year contract with HC Davos from the Swiss National League and played 38 games for the club. He then left Switzerland and moved to Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod in the Continental Hockey League . After 37 games this season for Torpedo, the Swedish goalkeeper switched to Jokerit within the KHL in May 2020 .
