Career
Nečas spent his junior years at SKLH Žďár nad Sázavou . The striker played for the club until the 2014/15 season. At the age of 13 he made his debut in the club's U16 team. During the 2014/15 season, the attacker switched to the offspring of HC Kometa Brno . At the club based in the Czech extra league, Nečas went through the U16 and U18 teams. He finished the 2014/15 season as a top scorer in the U16 age group. In the following game year he led the U18 team as top scorer in the playoffs to win the Czech championship title. At the beginning of the 2016/17 season - he had previously been selected in the KHL Junior Draft 2016 in tenth place overall by the HK tractor Chelyabinsk - the 17-year-old made the leap into the professional team in Brno. He finished the season as the best newcomer to the league and won the Czech championship title with the team . In a total of 51 missions, he contributed 19 scorer points. These included eleven goals, four of which he scored in the playoffs.
In the summer of 2017, Nečas was selected in the NHL Entry Draft 2017 as the twelfth player by the Carolina Hurricanes from the National Hockey League . The Czech was signed by the Hurricanes just a few weeks after the draft, completed the pre-season phase in North America and was on the ice for the first time in the NHL in Carolina's fourth game of the season. However, this should remain his only appearance in the 2017/18 NHL season , as the management decided to send the center forward back to his Czech homeland for further development. There he ran on loan again for Kometa Brno. With the club successfully defended the title of the Czech championship. In addition, Nečas was recognized as the most valuable player in the Extraliga after he had been involved in 26 goals in 38 appearances.
At the beginning of the 2018/19 season, Nečas switched permanently to the organization of the Hurricanes, where he also initially worked for their farm team , the Charlotte Checkers , in the American Hockey League (AHL). With the Checkers he won the Calder Cup at the end of the season .
International
For his home country, Nečas was on the ice in the junior division at numerous international tournaments. The striker made his first appearance at the World U-17 Hockey Challenge 2015 , in which the Czech Republic took seventh place. At the Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament 2016 a few months later, Nečas led his team as team captain to win the tournament for the first time. Furthermore, in 2017 he played in both the U20 Junior World Championship and the U18 Junior World Championship , but without making it into the medal ranks. At the U20 Junior World Championship 2018 , the attacker and the team took fourth place. He himself was the top scorer of his team and scored as many points as tournament top scorer Casey Mittelstadt . His eight assists, however, were the single most of the competition.
Nečas made his debut for the Czech national team as part of the Euro Hockey Tour 2017/18 . This was followed by participation in the 2018 World Cup in Denmark . At the turn of the year 2018/19 he took part in the U20 World Junior Championship 2019 .
