Lukáš Krajíček (born March 11, 1983 in Prostějov , Czechoslovakia ) is a Czech ice hockey player who has been under contract with HC Oceláři Třinec in the Czech Extraliga since November 2016 .

Career

Lukáš Krajíček began his career as an ice hockey player in his Czech homeland, where he was active in the youth team of HC Zlín until 1999 . He then moved to the Detroit Compuware Ambassadors in the junior league North American Hockey League , which he left after only one year to from 2000 to 2003 for the Peterborough Petes , who pulled him in the CHL Import Draft 2000 with their first pick as a third player overall had to play in Canada's top junior league Ontario Hockey League . During this period, the defender was selected in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft in the first round as a total of 24th player by the Florida Panthers .

For the Panthers he made his debut in the National Hockey League in the 2001/02 season , with no point and penalty in five games in his rookie year . In the summer of 2008 the Czech was signed by the Tampa Bay Lightning , for whom he played until January 2010. He then signed a contract with the Philadelphia Flyers , having been released as a free agent with the Lightning a week earlier. In September 2010 he went back to his Czech homeland and signed a contract there with HC Oceláři Třinec in the Extraliga . With this he won the Czech championship in the 2010/11 season, to which he made a significant contribution as the best defender and player with the best plus / minus balance. In May 2011 Krajíček received a contract with HK Dinamo Minsk from the Continental Hockey League . After playing there for five and a half years, he returned to HC Oceláři Třinec in the Czech extra league.

International

With the Czech U20 selection , Krajíček took part in the U20 World Junior Championships in the top division in 2002 and 2003 .

In the adult division, he played for the Czech Republic in the World Championships in the top division in 2006 , 2011 and 2012 , where he won the silver medal in 2006 and the bronze medal in 2011 and 2012. He also represented his colors at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi .
