Bryan Allen (born August 21, 1980 in Kingston , Ontario ) is a retired Canadian ice hockey player who played 748 games for the Vancouver Canucks , Florida Panthers , Carolina Hurricanes , Anaheim Ducks and Canadiens de Montréal between 1996 and 2015 has played in the National Hockey League on the position of defender . Allen spent most of his career with the Vancouver Canucks and Florida Panthers.
Career
Bryan Allen was initially active for the Ernestown Jets in a junior junior league, before running up from 1996 to 2000 for four years in the jersey of the Oshawa Generals , for whom he played in the Ontario Hockey League . During this time he was selected in the first round of the 1998 NHL Entry Draft as the fourth player of the Vancouver Canucks . Towards the end of the 1999/2000 season, Allen played for the first time in professional ice hockey, when he stood a total of eleven times for Florida's farm team at the time , the Syracuse Crunch from the American Hockey League , on the ice. In the following season Allen was mainly in the squad of the Kansas City Blades from the International Hockey League . The defender also made his National Hockey League debut when he played eight times for the Canucks.
During the lockout in the 2004/05 NHL season , Allen was under contract with Chimik Voskressensk from the Russian Super League . After resumption of play in the NHL, Allen returned to the Canucks in 2005, before he went to Florida on June 23, 2006 together with Todd Bertuzzi and Alex Auld in exchange for Roberto Luongo , Lukáš Krajíček and a six- round suffrage in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft Panthers delivered. In Florida, Allen was set as a regular player for the following five seasons, before he was given to the Carolina Hurricanes in a barter for Sergei Samsonow in late February 2011 just before the trade deadline .
On July 1, 2012, he signed a three-year contract with the Anaheim Ducks as a free agent .
On November 20, 2014 he was exchanged by the Ducks for René Bourque to the Canadiens de Montréal , who gave him to the Hamilton Bulldogs from the AHL after only five NHL appearances . There he ended the 2014/15 season and then announced the end of his active career.
International
For Canada , Allen took part in the U20 World Junior Championship in 1999 and won the silver medal.
