Branislav Konrád (born October 10, 1987 in Nitra , Czechoslovakia ) is a Slovak ice hockey goalkeeper who has been under contract with HC Olomouc from the Czech extra league since May 2015 .

Career

Branislav Konrád began his career as an ice hockey player in his hometown in the youth department of HK Nitra , for whose professional team he was active in the Slovak extra league from 2005 to 2008 . Towards the end of the 2007/08 season he also played three games for Metallurg Shlobin from the Belarusian extra league . For the 2008/09 season , the goalkeeper was committed by HC Slovan Bratislava , where he spent the following four years in the Slovak Extra League. There he developed into one of the best goalies in the league and had the best catch rate of all extraliga goalkeepers in the 2009/10 season with 94%. In the 2011/12 season he won the Slovak championship title with Slovan Bratislava as a regular goalkeeper . He himself was elected to the league's All-Star Team.

For the 2012/13 season Slovan Bratislava was included in the Continental Hockey League and was used as a substitute behind Jaroslav Janus in a total of seven KHL games. In July 2013 he left Slovan and was later signed by HK Nové Zámky from the MOL league , but where he did not play a game. Instead he was awarded to HC Oceláři Třinec in the Czech extra league. Konrád played three games there before he left the club in the direction of DEL2 , where he guarded the goal of the Heilbronn Falcons for the rest of the 2013/14 season . For the 2014/15 season Konrád moved back to the Slovakian extra league for HC Dukla Trenčín and was one of the statistically best goalkeepers in the league. In May 2015 he received a contract from HC Olomouc from the Czech Extraliga , which was extended by three years in November of the same year. In the 2015/16 season he had the highest catch quota and the lowest average goal conceded in the Extraliga.

International

For Slovakia , Konrád took part in the junior division in the U18 World Junior Championship in 2005 and the U20 World Junior Championship in 2007 . In the senior sector, he was in his country's squad at the 2007 World Cup , in which, however, he was not used.
