The 99th German Catholic Day took place from May 28 to June 1, 2014 in Regensburg . The host was the diocese of Regensburg , which organizes the Catholic Day with the Central Committee of German Catholics (ZdK) . The motto was “Building bridges with Christ”.

The sponsoring association was founded in April 2012. The Katholikentag management was constituted directly after the 98th German Catholic Convention in Mannheim in July 2012, chaired by Alois Glück .

Around 50,000 participants came to Regensburg. They discussed, among others, the topics of celibacy , recognition of homosexual lifestyles and the admission of women to the office of priest .
