76th German Catholic Day

The 76th German Catholic Day took place from August 31 to September 5, 1954 in Fulda . The motto of the Catholic Day was “You should be a witness to me”.

The chairmen were the Federal Minister Anton Storch , the diocesan chairwoman of Regensburg Klara Tausendpfund and the mayor of the city of Fulda Dr. Cuno Raabe . As chairman of the Fulda Local Committee, Joseph Schmitt was largely responsible for planning the Catholic Day.

The Catholic Academic Foreign Nationals Service and the Episcopal Relief Organization Misereor emerged from an initiative of the 76th German Catholic Convention in Fulda .
