Vocational primary school year

The primary vocational school year is a one-year full-time school year. The prerequisite for attending the vocational primary school year is the secondary school certificate or the completion of the preliminary class for the vocational primary school year or completion of a special school .

Basic knowledge of a specific professional field is taught. Possible occupational fields are:

In addition, lessons are given in cross-professional subjects (German, social studies, religion).

The following qualifications can be obtained by attending the primary vocational school year:

  • Secondary school leaving certificate after the 10th grade, if the student had obtained the secondary school leaving certificate after the 9th grade before the visit.
  • Secondary school leaving certificate if the student's achievements in German, English and mathematics are at least satisfactory on average.

Furthermore, upon successful completion of the basic vocational school year, the vocational training can be shortened by one year, provided that it takes place in the same professional field.
