The professional association of natural scientists in laboratory diagnostics eV (BNLD) is a German professional association .

This was founded in 1993 with the aim of achieving equality and equal treatment for all persons working in medical laboratory diagnostics who have completed university education and training by the respective specialist societies in the interest of good interdisciplinary cooperation.

The association cooperates, among others, with specialist societies such as the German United Society for Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (DGKL), which carries out further training to become a clinical chemist (see Clinical Chemistry ). The German Society for Human Genetics (GfH) awards the specialist title of specialist human geneticist , the German Society for Immunology (DGfI) the specialist title of specialist immunologist DGfI . These specialist titles document the ability of natural scientists working in medical laboratory diagnostics to independently carry out and medical evaluation of clinical-chemical, genetic or immunological examinations .
