Besòs Mar is an underground station on the Barcelona Metro . It is located in the Sant Martí district . The station is served by metro line 4 . You can change to three bus lines at the above-ground bus stop.

history

The station was put into operation on October 15, 1982 as part of the opening of the eastern extension of line 4 from Selva de Mar to La Pau under the name La Mina . At the opening, Barcelona's Mayor Narcís Serra promised to rename the subway station soon . Several neighborhood associations had previously complained about the poor reputation of the La Mina district. The renaming took place along with the extension of line 4 to Pep Ventura on April 22, 1985. Since the name of the neighboring district El Besós y Maresme was already taken, Besós Mar was chosen .
