Besson MB-411 was a submarine - board aircraft of the French Navy . The aircraft type was only used as an on-board aircraft on the submarine cruiser Surcouf . The unarmed low- wing aircraft was used for reconnaissance. The aircraft was transported in a pressure-resistant hangar in the aft part of the Surcouf tower . At the start, the MB-411 had to be assembled outside the hangar. This process took about 30 minutes. After landing, the aircraft had to be dismantled again, which took about the same time.
