The Beth Israel Synagogue ( Turkish Bet İsrail Sinagogu ) is a Sephardic - Orthodox synagogue in the district of Karataş the Turkish city of Izmir .

It is located under Tarihi Asansör on Mithatpaşa Street and opened in 1907.

The Beth Israel Synagogue was built by a Ferman of the Governor of Izmir to the Sadrazam Mehmed Kâmil Pasha under Sultan Abdülhamid II as a place of prayer for Jews . Since then it has been the largest house of worship for the Jews of Izmir. The synagogue was renovated in the 1950s. In 2007 the 100th anniversary of the synagogue was celebrated.
