The Evangelical Church of Leuscheid was first mentioned in 1131 and was a Catholic Church of Mary . The tower and nave correspond to this age. The transept, choir and sacristy were built in the 14th and 15th centuries. In the 1960s, the now Protestant quarry stone church of Leuscheid was plastered and renovated.

building

The building is a three-aisled basilica with a west tower, transept and polygonal choir apse . The two-storey sacristy with a high slate roof is attached to the south side of the transept . The Romanesque tower has four floors. The bell storey is structured by pilaster strips and a round arch frieze . The tower has two coupled arched windows on all sides .

Baptismal font

The baptismal font is Romanesque. It stands in the south transept and is supported by six columns. It is made of trachyte and has a round bowl .

Bells

The bells are from 1446, 1559 and the third indeterminate also from the 16th century.

Monument protection

The church is entered under the number A 2 in the list of architectural monuments in Windeck .
