The Betbeder Islands ( French Île Betbeder ) are a group of small islands in the southwestern part of the Wilhelm Archipelago off the Graham coast of Graham Land on the Antarctic Peninsula . They are located 35 km west of Cape Tuxen .
Participants of the Fourth French Antarctic Expedition (1903-1905) under the direction of Jean-Baptiste Charcot discovered them. Charcot named it after Vice Admiral Onofre Betbeder (1860-1914), the then Argentine Secretary of the Navy, the provision of the Corvette Uruguay to rescue the Swedish Antarctica expedition (1901-1903) under Otto Nordenskjold caused and the overtaking of Charcot ship Français in Buenos Aires allowed .
