The company health insurance fund of GM PFAFF AG Kaiserslautern ( BKK PFAFF ) is a company health insurance fund based in Kaiserslautern with over 40,000 insured persons (as of July 2019). Membership is possible for all legally insured persons who live or work in Rhineland-Palatinate .
history
It was founded by the company owner Pfaff at the end of 1884 according to the Bismarck social legislation passed in 1883 under the name of GM Pfaff sewing machine factory's factory health insurance .
On January 31, 1997, it merged with BKK Guss- und Armaturwerk Kaiserslautern, Nachf. Karl Billand GmbH & Co, which was established in 1897 and is currently according to § 1 of the statutes for the companies PFAFF Industriesysteme und Maschinen AG , Pegasus Europe GmbH, Aco Guss GmbH , all located in Kaiserslautern and Bürstlein Gusstechnik GmbH in Landstuhl, GTT German Textile Technologie Ltd. in Konken and Poly-Tech in Sembach .
Since October 1, 1999, employment with one of the companies mentioned has no longer been of importance for insurance at BKK PFAFF, but BKK PFAFF is available to all compulsorily and voluntarily insured persons who have their residence or place of employment in Rhineland-Palatinate as statutory health and Long-term care insurance available. The BKK PFAFF has the intensified sphere of activity in the city and district of Kaiserslautern. This is also where the focus of their activities on prevention in kindergartens, schools, nursing homes and their own courses in individual prevention is located.
Contribution rates
Since January 1, 2009 the contribution rates have been standardized by the legislator. Until December 31, 2014, the BKK PFAFF did not levy any additional contribution that was independent of the health insurance fund . From January 1, 2015, it will raise an income-related additional contribution of 0.4 percent of the contributory income.
