Betta Lemme

Betta Lemme (born 1993 in Montreal ) is a Canadian singer , composer and producer .

Life

Lemme has Italian roots. She began to learn to play the piano at the age of two. After her early musical attempts were unsuccessful, a modeling career helped her to travel and work around the world.

In 2017, the New York- based Lemme met Tucker Halpern from the duo Sofi Tukker and the band The Knocks . After a joint jam session, she had the first opportunity to combine electronic music with jazz and classical music . These approaches can already be found in her debut single Bambola (Italian for "doll"). In Italy the song reached number 31 in the charts . In the same year Lemme could already be heard on Sofi Tukker's single Awoo .

Lemme grew up trilingual and allows her three mother tongues, English , French and Italian , to flow into her music. She strives to combine classical and jazz with the popular Stromae sound .
