Bettina Schmidt (production designer)
Bettina Schmidt (born April 13, 1965 in Bamberg ) is a German set designer and set designer.
Life
Bettina Schmidt was born in Bamberg. Her father Peter Schmidt was a teacher, her mother Annemarie a trained milliner. She grew up with her three years older brother in Bamberg, where she also passed the high school diploma at ETA-Hoffmann-Gymnasium. In addition to school, she attended numerous drawing courses with the Bamberg painter Edgar Stengele . This recognized her abilities and promoted her artistic ambitions. After graduating from high school, Bettina Schmidt studied stage and costume design at the Mozarteum in Salzburg, which she completed with a master's degree .
After assisting at various German theaters, she completed an internship at WDR and from then on also worked for television (WDR, SDR, SWF). In addition to cinema and television, her focus is on studio construction and historical films. She was responsible for a variety of equipment for ARD, ZDF and RTL productions and also worked with Roland Suso Richter (Nothing but the Truth, 1999; Der Tunnel, 2001) Fatih Akın ( Solino , 2002) and Peter , among others Greenaway ( The Tulse Luper Suitcases, Part 1 , 2003).
Awards
- German television award 1999 for the best production design in The Bubi Scholz Story (ARD / WDR, 1998).
- Adolf Grimme Prize 2007 for the production design in the television film Teufelsbraten and 2011 for Neue Vahr Süd .
