Bettina Baronesse von Freytag called Löringhoff (born September 26, 1943 in Stuttgart ) is a German classical archaeologist from the noble family Freytag von Loringhoven .

Life

Bettina von Freytag, daughter of the philosopher Bruno von Freytag-Löringhoff , passed the Abitur at the Uhland-Gymnasium Tübingen . Then she began studying classical archeology. In 1971 she received her doctorate from the University of Tübingen . After numerous activities in excavations in Italy , Greece and Turkey (1965 with Friedrich Karl Dörner in Kommagene ) and after four years as a research assistant at the German Archaeological Institute in Olympia and Athens , she became custodian of the Antikensammlung and scientific assistant at the Archaeological Institute in 1976 University of Tübingen, since 1977 as Academic Councilor, from 1993 as Senior Councilor. From 1989, she was also the director of the University Museum at the Castle Hohentübingen worked since 1996 as Academic Director and Chief Curator. Since 1998 she has also been an adjunct professor at the University of Tübingen. In 2008 she retired, but continued to work for the Tübingen Children's University .
