Betty Kofler ( December 4, 1868 in Vienna - November 5, 1933 in Mannheim ) was an Austrian opera singer ( mezzo-soprano ).

Life

Betty Kofler had the desire to go to the stage as a child. She was trained by Karoline Pruckner in Vienna and made her debut as "Nancy" in Linz. Then she went to Magdeburg, Basel, Nuremberg and from there to the Hoftheater Mannheim, where she appeared as a guest on May 7, 1897 as "Ortrud" and on May 8, 1897 as "Adriana", and was immediately engaged. She stayed there until 1925.

As a guest she appeared regularly in Karlsruhe (1901–1912), Wiesbaden (1899–1910) and Frankfurt am Main (1902–20).

Her best roles included "Carmen", "Amneris", "Azucena" in the Troubadour , "Fides" in Prophet by Meyerbeer, the "Eglantine" in Euryanthe by Weber and the "Sesto" in La clemenza di Tito by Mozart.
