Betty Leslie-Melville

Betty Leslie-Melville (born March 7, 1927 in Baltimore , Maryland , † September 23, 2005 ) was an American animal rights activist and known as Lady Giraffe .

She and her husband Jock Leslie-Melville took care of Uganda giraffes for 40 years . To this end, they founded the African Fund for Endangered Wildlife USA in 2005 .
