Beverley Flynn

Beverley Cooper-Flynn ( Irish : Beverley Ní Fhloinn ; born June 9, 1966 in County Mayo ) is a former Irish politician of the Fianna Fáil , who was a member of the House of Commons ( Dáil Éireann ) between 1997 and 2011 .

Life

Beverley Flynn is a daughter of the politician Pádraig Flynn , who was also a member of the Dáil Éireann, several times Minister and EU Commissioner . She herself worked as a manager in financial services institutions and ran for the Fianna Fáil in a by-election on June 9, 1994 in the constituency of Mayo West, which was necessary because of the resignation of her father, for the first time for a seat in the Dáil Éireann, but was defeated by the candidate of Fine Gael , Michael Ring .

Beverley Cooper-Flynn was elected for the first time as a member of the Dáil Éireann ( Teachta Dála ) in the subsequent elections on June 6, 1997 in the Mayo constituency. In addition, she was elected in the local elections on June 10, 1999 with the most votes for the six seats to be awarded in the Castlebar constituency as a member of the Council of County Mayo . She belonged to the Dáil Éireann after her re-election in the elections on May 17, 2002, since May 5, 2004 as a non-attached MP . Earlier it became known that as a financial advisor for the National Irish Bank , she had given illegal tips on tax evasion , after which she was forced to resign from the Fianna Fáil faction .

In the elections on May 24, 2007 , Beverley Flynn joined as a non-party and was re-elected to the House of Commons in the Mayo constituency. On April 8, 2008, she rejoined the Fianna Fáil group and was a member of the Dáil Éireann until the February 25, 2011 elections . She had previously refused to run again in these elections.
