The Bezelberg is a 638 m high mountain with a viewing platform near Neustadt / Vogtl. in the Vogtland district . Since only the outermost hilltop is covered with forest, there is a good view of the surrounding area as well as the north-west sloping edge of the Erzgebirge up to the Steinberg near Wernesgrün . During the GDR era, the mountain was used for military purposes due to its proximity to the border.
