Bhagavad-gītā as it is is a translation and commentary on the Bhagavad-gita by Abhay Charan Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada , founder of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness ( ISKCON ). The work was published in 1968 with the original English title Bhagavad-Gītā As It Is by Macmillan Publishers in London, the German-language edition was published in 1974 by the Bhaktivedanta Book Trust in Zurich.

The work, written by Prabhupada, offers the original Sanskrit verses in Devanagari and in a Latin transliteration . This is followed by a word-for-word translation and then the translation of the respective verse with explanations. The Bhagavad-gītā, as it is, is one of the most important scriptures of the ISKCON and other Gaudiya Vaishnava organizations alongside the Srimad Bhagavatam . The author comments on the Bhagavad-gita in the interpretation of the Gaudiya Vaishnavas , the Bengali Vishnuism .
