The Białka Gorge near Krempachy (Polish: Pieniński Przełom Białki pod Krempachami ) is a Białka gorge through the Pieninen Mountains ( Zipser Pieninen ) near Krempachy . The area is protected as a Natura 2000 nature reserve.

geology

The Pieninen consist of limestone from the Cretaceous Age (approx. 145–120 million years ago). The breakthrough is between the two limestone mountains Obłazowa and Kramnica . There are three caves in the limestone cliffs, including Jaskinia Obłazowa .

archeology

In the Jaskinia Obłazowa cave, archaeologists have found human traces from the Paleolithic 40,000 years ago, including a 30,000-year-old boomerang made of mammoth bones, the oldest boomerang ever found.
