The Obłazowa is a mountain in the Polish Pogórze Bukowińskie , a mountain range of the Pogórze Spisko-Gubałowskie , at 670 meters above sea level.

Location and surroundings

The Obłazowa lies in the Pieninen rock belt on the border between the mountain range of the Pogórze Bukowińskie and the valley basin Kotlina Nowotarska . The mountain river Białka flows east of the summit and forms the Białka Gorge . On the opposite side of the river rises the rock Kramnica . The whole area is in a nature reserve.

The summit is easily accessible from all surrounding villages. It is outside the Tatra National Park . From the summit there is a wide all-round view of the surrounding mountain ranges. The Obłazowa Cave and two other smaller caves are located in the rock . The Obłazowa Cave was already inhabited in the Paleolithic 40,000 years ago. The oldest boomerang made from mammoth bones was found in it. Finds from the Pleistocene , bones of cave lions and cave hyenas are even older . The peak served as a Slavic place of worship in the early Middle Ages.
