Bibi Bulak

Bibi Bulak ( tetum "Crazy Goat" ) was a professional drama and music troupe from East Timor . She was connected to the Timorese art school Arte Moris and shared the rooms with her in Dili . It was founded in 2000.

Bibi Bulak developed dramas and toured the country with them. They were often booked by other organizations for theater education projects. She also wrote, produced and played music, educational dramas for the radio and short films. All productions were carried out in the national language Tetum.

In 2009 Bibi Bulak wrote and recorded the radio soap opera Domin Familia with 24 episodes. With this program, broadcast every Saturday evening on Radio Timor-Leste (RTL), the Ministry of Health and the United Nations wanted to bring topics such as family planning and safe motherhood closer to the general public. In the story, Lena Amaral , the youngest daughter of the family, falls in love with Julio, the son of a cockfighting operator.

Bibi Bulak is said to have been closed on March 26, 2010. Some of the former members wanted to set up a new theater school at Arte Moris under the name “Bibi 2010”. Other groups founded by old members are Sikat Leet and Laloron Reyak .
