Bibliographix is a literature management program for Microsoft Windows , MacOS and Linux .

Versions and pricing

Bibliographix is available on all common operating systems. While initially only the Windows market was served, there has been a version of the program for MacOS since September 11, 2013 and a Linux version since December 2013. The current version is 2019c .

Bibliographix was offered in two versions in previous versions 1 to 8:

  • Bibliographix Basic: free version. Limitation of the output of literature attachments to ten entries, but no limitation of the number of literature sources in the database.
  • Bibliographix Pro: commercial version. The Pro version was available in a locally installable version and in a version that could be installed centrally in the network. Both versions allowed the simultaneous, shared use of databases in a local network.

Since version 9 there is only one version. Since then, however, the support has been subject to a charge and is billed according to expenditure. Version 10 was distributed as " Pay what you want " software. Newer versions are open source . Voluntary financial support via PayPal is requested on the bibliographix.de website .

Functions

  • Evidence of different document types (books, articles, ...) can be collected, managed and saved. The content of the documents is made accessible by assigning keywords and categories.
  • Links to electronically available media can be managed.
  • Bibliographix supports literature searches by enabling online access to scientific literature databases (e.g. PubMed ) and library catalogs.
  • Bibliographix can import media metadata based on ISBN.
  • Bibliographix can be linked to word processing programs to output the evidence . So z. For example, temporary references to sources can be entered into the text within a Word file, which are then automatically merged into a bibliography and added to the end of the Word file.
  • Bibliographix knows all common citation guidelines. Your own citation guidelines can be created with a built-in editor.
