Nuala Fennell (born November 25, 1935 in Dublin , † August 11, 2009 ibid) was an Irish activist for women's rights, politician and entrepreneur.

Fennell campaigned for the rights of abandoned and battered women in the 1970s, and in 1972 was a founding member of the group that built the first women's shelter in Dublin.

In 1977 she ran unsuccessfully as an Independent for a seat in the 21st Dáil Éireann . In the late 1970s she came to Fine Gael and ran for the party in the 1979 European elections. In 1981 she was elected as representative for South Dublin for the Fine Gael in the 22nd Dáil Éireann. She also belonged to the 23rd and 24th Dáil. During the 24th Dáil Éireann she was Minister of State of the Taoiseach . In the elections for the 25th Dáil Éireann on February 17, 1987 Fennell could not defend her mandate again. Instead, she was nominated on February 20 by Garret FitzGerald for the 17th Seanad Éireann , as some seats there had become vacant by the Dáil elections. She was confirmed in office in the Senate elections that took place a short time later. Fennell was now a member of the 18th Seanad Éireann, but left him in June 1989 when she was elected to the 26th Dáil Éireann. In 1992 she retired from politics after the end of the legislative period and ran a successful public relations company.

Fennell was married and had three children.
