The Munich University Library of the University of Applied Sciences Munich (HM) is spread over three locations, where the respective specialist books of the associated faculties can be found. The total inventory amounts to approx. 320,000 print media and 512 current print magazine titles, over 95% in open access. In addition, around 140,000 eBooks and around 45,000 eJournals are offered to university members. The main task is to provide university members with printed or electronic media. The library is also open to all other people.

The library is spread over three locations:

  • The central library in Lothstraße serves the nine faculties of the main site: There are over 100,000 print media and around 250 current print journals available. In addition, several thousand e-books, e-journals and access to a large number of databases are offered.
  • The Karlstrasse branch library is responsible for the architecture, civil engineering and geographic information departments. In addition to 55,000 print media and around 100 print magazines, the inventory also includes e-books, e-journals and faculty-related databases.
  • The branch library in the Pasing district serves the business administration and applied social sciences faculties. Over 100,000 print media and approx. 200 current print magazines are in stock. Here, too, there is access to several thousand e-books, e-journals and numerous databases.

Services

  • Literature research is possible through a variety of offers, for example through the library catalog OPAC , the association catalog Gateway Bavaria , the library association Bavaria , DBIS , EZB and ZDB .
  • Lending takes place via an RFID system at self- check terminals.
  • Electronic interlibrary loan: University members can order books or journal articles that are not in the holdings of a library in Munich via interlibrary loan .
  • In addition to WLAN , internet-capable PCs via VPN are also available at all three locations . The use of overhead book scanners is also offered.
  • Several times a month there are information events and seminars to introduce scientific work, reference management with Citavi and text design with LaTeX .
