The library for social science or with the full title library for social science: with special regard to social anthropology and pathology is a series of books that appeared in Leipzig from 1895–1898. It was published in association with Havelock Ellis , Enrico Ferri , Cesare Lombroso , Gustav H. Schmidt, Giuseppe Sergi and Werner Sombart by Hans Kurella , the German student of the Italian racial theorist Lombroso .

The criminal law theory Enrico Ferris - the founder of the positivist school of criminal law (Scuola Positiva) - had expanded Lombroso's teaching of the "born criminal" and in his criminal sociology (volume 8 of the series) next to the innate - according to its name: anthropological - factor of the Differentiated crime a number of other factors and attempted a classification of criminals.
