Bideau Park

Bideau Park is a green area in the center of Castries , St. Lucia .

The square is located in the center of the city, just a few meters south of the southeast end of Castries Port ( vielle Ville Bay ). From there only the Vendors Arcade (sales hall) extends to the bank . It is bordered by the streets Jeremie Street to the north and Laborie Street and Peynier Street to the west and east of the park, respectively, while Constitution Park with its buildings connects to the south . Laborie Street connects the park with Derek Walcott Square .

The park is furnished with two statues. These honor the memory of Jean Baptiste Bideau (1780–1817), a captain who once saved Simon Bolivar 's life.
