The crates commonly found in retail today are built in such a way that the lower surface engages on the surface of an identical crate when the crates are placed on top of one another. In the format 400 mm × 300 mm, Euro pallets are loaded with 40 boxes, in the box format 300 mm × 200 mm 60 to 80 boxes are stacked on the pallet in an offset manner. A Euro pallet filled with empties weighs around 200 to 400 kg. With a full container, it can weigh between 550 and 1200 kg.
