Biggs Island is a small island off the southern tip of Adelaide Island on the west side of the Antarctic Peninsula . It is the easternmost of the Henkes Islands .

The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1963 after Thomas Biggs from the Falkland Islands , helmsman on the maiden voyage of the RRS John Biscoe , which was used in 1963 to survey this island by the hydrographic unit of the Royal Navy .
