The Marguerite Bay ( French Baie Marguerite ) is a 200 km long bay on the southwest coast of the Antarctic Peninsula . It is bordered in the north by Adelaide Island and in the south by Alexander I Island ; to the east is the Antarctic mainland (the Fallières coast and then to the north - in the area of the Arrowsmith Peninsula - the Loubet coast of Graham Land ). The south-eastern section of the bay was occupied by the Wordie Ice Shelf , which has now melted, until the end of the 1990s . The Rothera Station on Adelaide Island is located on the Marguerite Bay.

The bay was discovered as part of the Fifth French Antarctic Expedition (1908–1910) under the direction of polar explorer Jean-Baptiste Charcot and named after his second wife Marguerite Cléry (1874–1960).
